How many of us remember ourselves as children who couldn"t be "straightened out"? The teachers were totally fed up with us. They just gave up on us. We were little children who knew in advance that there was no systematic method to get all the knowledge to penetrate into our brains. Everything always turned out topsy-turvey for us but not for the others. We dreamt our way through the lessons gazing out the window, but were still considered intelligent .It was difficult for us to concentrate and to finish tasks. We disturbed the class out of sheer boredom being unable to sit still on a chair.
ADHD is a frequent and often discussed phenomenon in our age. Many children are now diagnosed as ADHD sufferers and in the last few years the educational system has made great progress in increasing aid for these pupils.Yet there are still so many of them with a feeling of being unsuccessful or even compete failures which accompanies them for all of their lives.ADHD causes these children and the adults they mature into to have low self-esteem and to suffer from an acute lack of self confidance.
In practise, people with ADHD often have greater abilities than other people. In many cases , they are more energetic, more creative and more daring, charismatic, artistic and have a well-developed sense of humour. Having ADHD forces them to make more effort so they are fitter in coping with the challenges of life.
However,as children they lived with the feeling of "not being able to deliver the goods", teachers at school gave up on them and their parents didn't know what to do with them. They grew with a sense of failure, often feeling lonely and inadequate.unsupported by helping hands, an understanding embrace or a sympathetic listener.

My name is Sharona. I"m 28, a student with ADHD, which has accompanied me in different areas of my life, including my studies, leaving me with a heavy load of frustrations. low self-esteem, difficulties making daily plans, a mound of anger that got bigger with every disappointment and more... Does it sound familiar to you? I too reached the point where everything in life seemed to be in chaos, a day to day struggle without solutions. Haunted by the routine, I gave in to the difficulties that accompanied me and at the end, found myself frustrated, unhappy and without any control over my life.
