Philosophy of the Lotus Flower

      Zoom Plus        Zoom Minus
We chose the lotus flower as a symbol for our center, because it is an amazingly beautiful flower that grows in muddy water. The muddier the water, the more the blossom shines. We believe that, in a smilar fashion, our lives expand and flourish as a result of the  transformation of  the "mud" in our environment (our problems) into challenges, and when we bravely and successfully face these challenges. Recently, scientific research has shown that there is a scientific basis for the cleanliness of the lotus flower. A microscopic examination of lotus petals has shown that their surface is covered by tiny bulges that repel dirt. This self-cleaning phenomenon is called : "the lotus effect".
In addition, the lotus flower is a plant that produces seeds and flowers simultanoeosly. It symbolises the law of cause and effect in our lives. The flowering is the effect of our past deeds. The sowing of seeds determines our future. The simultaneity of both actions, is a hint of our ability to change our destiny in the here and now, through self-empowerment.

The Basic  Approach to Life of our center is taken from eastern philosophy. Even so, we believe that it matches quite well western  New Age ideas and the Kabala ideas.

Frequently we find ourselves or others grumbling: "If only I was younger, more beautiful , thinner,.. if only I had different parents, a differnet partner, a different boss" - then our lives would be completely different. We often identify the problem as external and we naively think that if we made an external change like : changing our place of work, changing our partner, or getting away from colleagues at work who are annoying us - it would be better for us.
Eastern philosophy teaches us that in order to effectively change our external environment  - we must first change ourselves inside. In a way this gives us both complete responsibility, and to the same extent , complete freedom! We no longer  have to wait for someone to make the change for us. As soon as we have the awareness and the right tools, we can make the change by ourselves.

Change begins first of all with a change in our outlook.
We are the key players in all our relationships. It follows that we should be able to deeply respect ourselves and our environment. We must understand : that the key to change begins with our internal relationship with ourself, which will lead us to  a change in our surroundings. A wise 20th century philosopher said "A person can achieve a human revolution which will influence all the environment".
It's important to remenber : the keys to success are in our hands.
